INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF MINIATURE AND ILLUMINATION

REGULATIONS

Algiers from 14th to 20th October 2009

Article 1:

The Ministry of culture organizes the international cultural festival of the Illumination and Miniature (contest).

The aim of this competition is to display the progress of the anointing art.It also aims to encourage and develop creativity that is already set as a great art in the Islamic word, although it is still know world erode.

As a result, it has become imperative to organize this festival as an artistic event so that the world discovers and gets to know this fabulous at.

Article 2

The competition will take place between May 13th and 19th October 2009 at the national museum of Illumination, miniature   and calligraphy, on road Brothers Mechri number 12. Low Casbah.

And is composed of three prizes in cash to illumination and three other prizes to the Miniature.

Article 3:

The competition concerns the Illumination and the miniature.

The works should be presented on papers or any other material, on condition that they are adequate to the requirement of this art.

Article 4:

Participants are able to subscribe on the following email musee.emc@gmail.com Forms can be sent to this E-mail.

Not later than the 30th August 2009 so that the works will be able to be advertised on the museum guide or on the Fax: +213-(0) 21-71-21-16

Article 5:

Candidates must send their works (pictures) on the site given above.

The copy of the works must be of a good quality and it should be 500 and 800 kilobits so that it would fit in the exhibition catalogue.

Copies should have the following format Tif.jpeg (jpg .GIF)

To facilitate the framing the measures of work (length / width) should be mentioned in the form.

Article 6:

Fill in the registration from in the appropriate language and send it along with a personal picture of less three years.

Mention the title of each work, dimensions and description of each work.

Send CV in no more than 200 works

The works are framed according to the dimensions given on the subscription forms

The works are evaluated by a specialized committee the candidates whose works are accepted are notified so as to they bring their works along with them

The works should be presented before October 12th 2009

The works au handed back the last day of the festival.

 

Article 7:

The committee that is in charge of evaluating the works is created 6 moths before the festival. This allows the organizers to travel around the countries concerned by the contest and choose the potential members of the jury.

Article 8:

The administration of the festival scrutinizes the files of the candidates and select the best works to boost and promote this art in Algeria.

Article 9: INTERNATIONAL JURY

A commodities of the participants and the jury members are starting from October 12th 2009

The organize do not pay any extra charges owe to custom duty, other expenses of loading or extra-weight or any other fees.

The administration of the festival does not accept works that arrive later and it will not evaluate them.

Article 10: REWARDS

Every candidate is allowed to participate with one to four works maximum.

Every work should bear on its overleaf the name of the artist, the country they come from and the title of the work.

The works should be signed by the artist’s name or his artistic name.

The works presented should respect others, be licks and should b word of amp thing that could cause conflits or can be subject to argumentation or of plagiarism.

Article 11:

The members of the committee are not allowed to take par in the contest as well as the employees of the administration and organizers of the festival.

Article 12:

The committee is composed of 5 members that are specialists in this kind of art.

They are appointed by the ministry of culture.

The head of the committee and the Vice President should be from Algeria and the other 3 members from 3 Arab or Islamic countries.

Article 13:

The evaluation of the works is done in secrecy according the festival and general law : that is taking into consideration the creativity, the technique used and style of coloring. No other part can influence the committee’s evaluation.

The competition endowment is as follows:

 

ILLUMINATION

First Prize      :  6 000 Dollars

Second Prize  :  4 000 Dollars

Third Prize     :  2 000 Dollars

 

MINIATURE

First Prize     :  6 000 Dollars

Second Prize :  4 000 Dollars

Third Prize    :  2 000 Dollars

Article 15:

The committee grants the two best works a special reward as an encouragement

Article 16:

The accepted works are kept for the museum to create a special gallery of this kind of art.

Article 17:

Artists can take part in the exhibition if they do not intend to take part in the contest. Yet they under go the same treatment of the candidates regarding the laws of the festival

 Article 18:

The laureates notification are dispatched to the candidates and participants on October 19th 2009. The resultants are available on the internet site given above.

Article 19:

Entering the festival implies that the participants and candidates do accept the regulation of the present event.

Article 20:

The committee decisions cannot be discussed.
